        THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF GEORGINA
                        IN THE
             REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY OF YORK
                           
                           
            BY-LAW NUMBER 2011- 0013 (TR-1)
                           

BEING A BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW NO. 2002-0046 (TR-1)  TO
REGULATE TRAFFIC AND TO GOVERN AND CONTROL THE  PARKING
OF VEHICLES IN THE TOWN OF GEORGINA
                           
     
     WHEREAS   the  Municipal  Act  2001  as   amended,
authorizes  a municipality to pass by-laws to  regulate
and   control  the  parking  of  vehicles,  except   on
highways, namely municipal lots and structures;
     
     NOW  THEREFORE  THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION  OF
THE TOWN OF GEORGINA ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

1.   THAT Section 5.10 be added to By-law No. 2002-0046
     (TR-1) as follows:
     
     5.10 PARKING BY PERMIT ON TOWN PROPERTY
     
     (a)  In this section the following definitions 
          apply:

          "Parking  Control  Device"  means   a   valid
          parking  permit  issued upon payment  of  the
          prescribed fee or a Resident Parking Pass.

          "Permit  Parking Lot" means a  Town  lot  for
          which  the  Town   issues  permits  to   park
          vehicles  for  prescribed fees  at  locations
          named in the Recreation, Parks & Culture  By-
          law to Establish Fees and Charges.
          
          "Resident  Parking Pass" means a  valid  Town
          issued  pass to allow residents  to  park  at
          locations  designated  on  the  pass  without
          payment of the prescribed fee.

     (b)  Parking of a vehicle on a Permit Parking  Lot
          shall  only  be allowed upon payment  of  the
          prescribed fee.
     
     (c)  Section  (b)  shall not apply  to  a  vehicle
          properly displaying a valid Resident  Parking
          Pass.
     
     (d)  No  person shall park a vehicle on  a  Permit
          Parking  Lot  without properly  displaying  a
          valid Parking Control Device.
          
2.   THAT these by-law amendments shall come into force
     and  take effect upon the date of passing of  this
     by-law.

3.   By-law  Nos. 98-042 (TR-1), 99-056 (TR-1),  99-073
     (TR-1), and 2007-0088 (TR-1) are hereby repealed.
